Art Whino at the Washington DC International Arts Expo THIS WEEKEND!
Come check out our HUGE booth at this great event!
The Washington DC International Arts Expo was founded by Fine Artist Lisa Jones, a dedicated community activist committed to enhancing artists’ careers by providing opportunities for sponsorship and exhibitions. Last year’s event featured some of the country’s most celebrated artists including Frank Frazier, the estate of William Tolliver, Floyd Gordon, Shannon Elkins and Larry Poncho Brown. Ms. Jones is joined in her efforts by Collective Vision partners Pauline Garcia and spokesman Kris Jenkins, New York Jet’s defensive tackle and Washington, DC community activist.
The Collective team is rounded out by an eclectic group of talented and experienced individuals and organizations including Evelyn Lugo, Director of Operations; Carla Labat, Project Manager for A Collective Collaboration; Anne Tally, Curator & Project Manager for An Intimate Evening; The CalPro Group, Management and Marketing; Medisor Strategies, Public Relations & Marketing; Aura Management Consulting, Technical Support & Website Management; and, Krista Forbes, Marketing, Advertising & Promotions.

Cheeseburger Sushi Oct 3rd DC & Oct 4th MD
Art Whino presents Cheeseburger Sushi, a playful juxtaposition of forms and ideas by artist Brandon Hill. In this solo exhibition Brandon infuses his funky style into a charged cross representation of the modern vs. the traditional, the Eastern vs. the Western, and the image vs. its physicality.
Touting the Cheeseburger as the “ambassador” food item of Americanism , Brandon playfully asserts that it is comparable in that sense to the way Sushi is viewed with an association to Japanese-ism. The two, he explains, “serve the same purpose in their level of respective popularity as well as status.” This core concept is the underlying connection within his various works that all incorporate “a fun mix of ideas that could be considered traditional by one culture” and new to another.
This show promises to be eye candy for everyone; incorporating 2D works, sculpture, designer vinyl, furniture art, light installation, and (of course) tasty treats, all in Brandon Hill’s unique and light hearted style.
The event is FREE and open to the public.

DC Based Art Whino Artist presents "The Golden Ass"
Mark Jenkins set up his appropriately themed "Golden Ass" sculpture in a tourist trap row in Barcelona, where living statue street buskers feed on coins from the passersby, The sculptures dedication to it's inanimate role is astounding and certainly worthy of the large amount of coin he gathered! Sometimes you get exactly what you paid for.
