A Message for DC metro area Artists

Dear Artists,

My name is Irina Chepilevskaya, I am a member of a project group in the student organization Students in Free Enterprise George Washington University (SIFE GWU). SIFE GWU is a student driven organization that strives to make a difference in the local and global community through stimulating, implementing, and teaching the principles of free enterprise. It is a chapter of the international organization Students In Free Enterprise that is active in 40 countries. We are contacting you as we felt you might be interested in cooperating with us, and such cooperation will be of a mutual interest and benefit.

Currently, we have a project under development that is concerned with art marketing. Under that project the members of SIFE – GWU will be helping local artists from underprivileged areas of the DC metro area to build upon their business skills in order to successfully market their art works and thus consistently provide themselves with means for a better life. Thus, the project is aimed, above all, at helping low-level income members of local communities, and thus improving the social situation in the respective areas. In order to ensure project sustainability, we will also be focusing on the artists’ ability to transfer the knowledge and skills to their peers who did not participate in the initial project.

Right now we are starting project activities, the first of which is a charity auction to be held in late April – early May, where artists of various backgrounds will have an opportunity to sell their work.

Please, if you think you might have an interest in cooperating with us in any form, do not hesitate to contact me. I will be looking forward to our possible fruitful cooperation.

Sincerely
Irina Chepilevskaya
